Update 0.24


Just a small update, will likely be several more of these before I turn my attention over to getting the Steam release working. My main priority right now is fixing bugs and adjusting balance.

BALANCE:

  • Reverted the Tome-of-Knowledge changes so that they now grant you the talent point (but no free talent point option.) 
    • I was never really happy with this change, and while it did what it was supposed to do in terms of total number of talent points it messed up a whole bunch of other areas that I think on a whole made the game worse off. Dan R's essay in response to my essay was the tipping point for me as I think he quite clearly demonstrated how the older system is more in line with the games design goals.
    • What the future holds for this system is unclear since there will likely be a lot of bigger more fundamental changes to the talent system (for example talent trees), but for the Web-Version I think this will work fine.
  • Changed Cylomars Fire-Storm to the newer version (casts near the player)
  • All spawners will spawn 1 additional wave of enemies if not killed.
  • Spitting vipers now have a slow moving poison arrow
  • Gnoll archers now have a slow moving ice arrow.

BUGS AND CRASHES:

  • Fixed the crashes in Swamp:4
  • Fixed: say you had two Staves-of-Energy, one equipped and you sold the one in your inventory. It was removing the ability from your bar.
  • Hammer of Crushing will now ignore protection as it should have.
  • Fixed a pretty tricky crash where enemies triggering a blink shroom would blink into a tile onto which a summoner was summoning and crash the game as they tried to occupy the same tile.
  • Fixed the SP/MP UI toggle not saving and loading correctly.
